Something's up With Jack!

A Begining. — Chapter 1

A fanfiction about Randomness in Movies » the nightmare before christmas

"Jack..... JACK!!" The mayor's annoying whining voice rang through our house. He got up from the breakfast table where we both sat. "Hang on, Sally." He mummbled to me as he got up. I was a little worried aout him recently. He hadn't been acting like himself..

"Yes mayor?" He asked, sounding slightly annoyed. "We need to plan for next Halloween! It's only 362 days away, you know!" Jack sighed. If he had eyes, he would've rolled them. There had been so much stress put on Jack these last few days. He comes straight home from planning, then goes to bed.

Ever morning it's the same. The mayor come knocking at our door, Jack leaves, doesn't come home until late, then sleeps and starts all over again in the morning. Well, today, Jack seemed.. different. More tired then usual. Which was weird because he slept late.He left with the mayor. Once again, he didn't come home until around 3 in the morning.

Even when Jack woke up that morning, before he even spoke to me, I knew something was wrong. Every time he opened his mouth to say something, he'd wince, then close it. He kept rubbing his temples too. A loud grumbleing sound filled our house as he cleared his throat for about the 7th time sence he got up.

He sat down at the table, then sat there with his skull his hands. I made him some coffee, and he just sat there and stared at it. "Thanks Sally, but I think I'll pass." He slid the cup away. I looked at him worriedly. "Please Jack. Just try it. It'll help you..." "I'm fine Sally! Geeze! Can't I just sit here and be tired?"

I was shocked. I've heard him talk to other people like that, but never to me! I ran upstairs with tears in my eyes. I waited upstairs for a few minutes and did some thinking. I thought about how he must be feeling right now. I felt bad about running off when he needed me most.

I slowly walked back down stairs and layed my hand on his shoulder. "Sally, I.... I just..... I'm sorry." He stood up and I hugged him lightly. I realized he wasn't his usualy snow white color. He looked... paler... with kin of a greenish tint. I placed my hand on his forehead. He was very warm.

I helped him to his room, then went to the kitchen. I thought for a while. What could help Jack? Then I got an idea. It was going to take some thinking though... I decided to make Snake and Spider stew. There was only one problem. Then only person who knows how to make it is......... Oogie Boogie!
