A Cry For Help

Chapter 1 — Chapter 1

A fanfiction about fictional story in Misc » betrayal

Late one night, the neighbor knocked on our door and asked, "Do you know where Kelly is?" He had a worried look on his face.

"No," I replied. "She stopped by earlier to look for Aimee, but she wasn't here and that's the last I saw of her." Kelly was his little sister and my sister's best friend. "Is she missing?"

"Well, I don't know. I got home a couple of hours ago and saw a note saying she'd be here and that's what I thought."

"Would you like to come in?" I know I shouldn't have asked, but I wanted to help.

"No, that's fine. But thanks anyways." As he went down the steps and crossed our lawn, I heard Aimee come down the stairs.

"What was Franky dong here," she asked as she rubbed her eyes.

What was I going to tell her? That we couldn't find her best friend? I couldn't. So I lied.

"He came over to say goodnight."

    She looked at me doubtfully."Why?"

It took me a second before I could answer. "Umm... Well why wouldn't he? He's been here awhile and we've been talking."

She still didn't believe me, I could tell. I tried to distract her. "What are you doing up? You have to get up early tomorrow. Plus, mom & dad will kill both of us of they come home finding us awake." I started pushing her upstairs. "C'mon, back to bed."

She groaned. "Ugh, c'mon Kate. Let me stay up a little later."

"No way. I'm not getting grounded because of you. Get to bed now." I looked at her with narrowed eyes. I was just about to yell at her but she grumbled, "Fine." She headed up the stairs and slammed the door.

I shook my head and sat on the stairs. Eight year olds these days. I sat like that until I heard my parents' car pull up.

"Kate, you're still up," I heard my father from across the room.

I got up. "Yeah. Sorry, but... Franky was over earlier and he can't find Kelly."

My mom dropped her keys. She loved Kelly like a daughter. "Do Jim ans Kendra know?"

Jim and Kendra were Franky and Kelly''s parents. They're also like family.

I shrugged. "I'm not sure. Franky came over earlier looking for her and I don't know if they're home yet."

My parents decided to go over there. I still had finals to study for, but it was too late. I headed upstairs and went to bed.
