Events are of course fictional. Reviews are appreciated. Warning : dark situations ahead.~~The sun peeks through the nylon black curtains as Lola’s eyes flutter slightly open as she tries to accustom to the sudden brightness forced upon her sensitive brown eyes. She yawns as she stretches her sore limbs and gets up slowly, not fully sure if she was prepared to face another day in this place. The glass house overlooking the California shore as the waves crash upon the shore. The furniture inside the house immaculate and perfect in its place as the sun starts sink in. To any normal person, this kind of life was what they always dreamed out. Rich, beautiful, and exotic. Now even though Lola had anything she wanted at her finger tips, it was not worth the pain that came along with it. The horror of wondering if he would strike next, always watching her every move. Lola was not at the least bit grateful for the life she was acclaimed to. Her friends has called her spoiled, ungrateful, and unappreciative, even naïve for not loving the man she was with. The man that was so dreamy, lovely. But what they didn’t know was Lola was engaged…to a monster.A monster she had never known her whole life. Their upcoming marriage was something Lola couldn’t bare. She didn’t even know him that well. She was merely an acquaintance to him, if it wasn’t for the family ties that unfortunately had to bind her to him. He was nothing she wanted in a man. He had nothing in common with her, and she knew very well he only wanted her money. Money that was rightfully hers, but in a cruel twist, nothing belonged to her anymore. Why? One simple word rested in her fiancé’s head. Control. It was such a simple word, yet it meant everything to him. Control was something he had come to master. He controlled mostly everything in her life. What friends she could have, what car she drove, down to what clothes she could wear. She wasn’t even allowed to visit her own sister anymore. And if she spent an money without his permission…she was inevitably punished. Punished for things no person should be punished for. She was trapped in a relationship that no one deserved, and Lola began to wonder if she would ever find a way out. She had no one to turn to except the beauty of mother nature itself. She took peace in her natural surroundings, it was only escape. “Morning love.” a hoarse voice had put and she shivered slightly from his tone. Once so soft spoken, was now deep from many years of smoking. It was finally starting to catch up with him. She faked a smile as he walked over to her and kissed her while she did her best to kiss back without cringing.“I drew a bath just for you sweetheart. I thought it would help your sore muscles.” he smiled softly as she acted as is she was grateful.“Thank you.” she replied softly as he held his hand up.“Say no more.” he said grabbing her hand gently and walking her over to the roman tub that was caddy cornered from the bathroom. The steamy water came into contact to her porcelain skin as she stood over it watching her reflection in it. She shivered slightly as he stood behind her and began grabbed the straps to her nightgown before pulling it down her slender arms and down her body until it hit the floor gracefully as a feather. She hated to be bare in front of him as he stared at her hungrily. She bit her lip as she thought. If Lola had anything to be grateful for, it was the fact that she still had her womanhood intact. She was grateful Lucas was waiting until marriage to take it away from her. But with gratefulness, came the dreading of knowing in less than a month she was legally owned by him. He would do anything pleased, not as if he didn’t do it now. She could hope that one month went by slowly. She didn’t want to give herself to him, he did not deserve it one bit. Still, that didn’t stop him from using her as his own release. His unwanted fingers, and her guilt never mixing as one.“Easy.” he smirked as he helped her inside the nice warm tub as her body sat down inside and welcomed the warm embrace. He kissed her hand before walking away as she sighed to herself and savored the quiet time by herself. As she listened to the water, she dipped in a bit more. As she closed her eyes she began to wonder the possibility of just sinking inside the water, and drowning. Would it be quick and easy? Would it be her last hope at escaping? As she pondered, she sank in more and more…until the water had passed her nose and head. And she forced herself to stay down enough to where she sat back up and coughed up the water that burned through her nose as she took deep breaths to steady herself. She ran a hand through her wet hair and sighed. Even the most simple way out, was not the simplest way out…~~Her hair blew in the wind as she stood on the balcony as she looked out towards the ocean. Her black tresses flowing freely while she tried to smile at the nice breeze that came in. She was interrupted when she felt arms around her waist and lips on her neck. She closed her eyes as she knew what the gesture meant.“Isn’t a little early for that?” she smiled softly as he turned her around.“Come with me.” he said taking her hand as he led her inside and into the bathroom as she looked confused. He motioned his hands.“Can you tell why I feel like there’s something out of place here?” he asked raising an eyebrow as she stuttered and looked around before she gasped and found the source. She quickly went to the towel rack and straightened them out.“I’m sorry, I don’t know why I forgot today.” she whispered as she smoothed them out. He smiled as he reached out and grabbed her arm roughly as she winced.“You’ve been forgetting a lot of things lately.”“I’m sorry.” she whimpered.“Apologies don’t mean anything sweetie. You don’t try, you do. Understand?” he said gripping her tighter as she nodded.“Yes!” she shouted softly as he let her go. “Now go get cleaned up. We have guests coming tonight.”~~As the party had started and Lola was in the kitchen making sure everything was in order, she sighed as she knew what kind of night this would be. The guests would stay more than necessary and she was stuck cleaning up the messes they so rudely would make. She pulled out the roast beef and began to cut into fine slices as she served them on plates and brought it out one by one.“Wow Lola, this looks fantastic.” Emilia praised as Lola faked a smile as she knew Emilia was just lying to be courteous. Emilia was Lucas’ friend’s wife. Therefore anyone who had anything to do with him, was just as malice as he was.“Thank you. I let it roast a little more than usual.” she replied softly.“It’s great.” a soft voice spoke and she looked up and smiled to herself at the source. Across from her was Rhett. The only nice one that actually seemed normal out of the whole entire ‘group’ that belonged to Lucas. He was sweet, helpful, and was not greedy like his sister Emilia. He smiled at her as she gave a nod.“Thank you.” she repeated as she looked into his brown eyes, but looked away when it was obvious everyone was looking at them. She felt Lucas’ eyes on her so she immediately looked down and continued with her dinner.“So can you believe this? Today at the office, Mrs. Rayne came in again. She was still making excuses as on why she can’t pay her mortgage. I mean come on. If you couldn’t afford the house, then why buy it in the first place? Maybe if she treated her husband better, he’d still be alive.” she mocked and Lola grimaced inside. She knew Mrs. Rayne very well, and that woman had a heart of gold. She didn’t understand why these people were so cruel? Power and greed was the only thing that consisted in their worlds as Lola was simply stuck and tortured in it. She did not belong to this. Any of it. And the fact that she remained helpless had pushed Lola to the edge.“I mean the woman worked that man to the bone, it’s no wonder he just dropped dead. He probably figured it was his only option!” she smiled as her and Lucas shared a laugh. Lola had enough of Emilia’s irate laugh and looked at Lucas.“Well if you don’t mind, I’m going to go get the dessert out.” she said softly while everyone had nodded then went back to the conversation as she rolled her eyes and pulled the cake out of the fridge.“I mean the woman worked that man to the bone, it’s no wonder he just dropped dead.” she mocked her to herself as she angrily sliced the cake into pieces. “Self centered bitch.” she muttered under her breath as she shook her head and brought the cake out to the guests as one by one she served them a piece. “That looks amazing.” Rhett smiled as she served him a piece.“Thank you.” she replied politely but smiled at him without anyone noticing as he watched her walk away and back to her seat, while her smiled remained upon her lips.~As the music played, and the wine was poured into champagne glasses, Lola was stuck forcefully at her fiancé’s side as he made jokes that she didn’t even bother to get. All she wanted to was go to sleep, but something told her she wouldn’t be getting it so soon. “Well we best get going. I have a very important meeting in the morning, and if all goes according to plan, I’ll be inheriting the office by my dear father.” Emilia said proudly as her husband Marc smirked and wrapped an arm around her waist.“Of course love.” he smiled as she nodded.“Well I do wish you the best of luck.” Lucas smiled as Marc held up his hand.“Not necessary, luck we’ve got. This is for fun.” he smirked as him and Lucas shook hands and he hugged Emilia.“Come over again soon, it was a real pleasure.” he said politely as they nodded and waved before walking out the front door as she sighed in relief.[/Finally./] she said in her head as she walked back into the kitchen and washed off the plates. As she neatly put them in the dish rack, she dried her hands and walked back to the living room. “Some party it was.” Lucas said as she looked at him and nodded.“It was.” she agreed with a soft smile.“That Rhett boy is something else isn’t he? I could use someone like him in the office.” he said nodding.“I think he’s very polite.” she agreed as he nodded once more before he lifted his hand and struck her across the cheek as she yelled and hit the floor from the impact. She grabbed her cheek as he glared at her.“I bet you would think that. I saw you slut. I saw you eyeing him up as he ever so graciously returned the favor. Are you that stupid you didn’t think I notice?” he hissed as he supplied a kick to her stomach as she cried out and reached for her stomach when he grabbed her hand as she winced and whimpered.“You just love to piss me off don’t you? You find it so fucking amusing don’t you?” he hissed again as he dug his nails into her skin as she screamed.“No!” she yelled and he smiled evilly as he shook his head.“I beg to differ. I think you need a reminder of where your place in this house is.” he said grabbing her arms and dragging her as she kicked and begged as he only slapped her harder.“Please no!” she screamed as he only dragged across the house and down the hall as she knew where he was taking her.“No! I’m sorry!” she begged, but he did not care as he rolled his eyes and opened the door at the end of hallway and dragged her down stairs as he let her stumble down the last two as she sobbed and cradled her aching body. She was sure she had fractured something.“Please don’t this.” she cried as he grabbed her chin and forced her emerald eyes to collide with his. “Apparently I do, because that brain of yours keeps forgetting where you belong. I own you sweetheart, and if I have to break you to get in you check, you best believe I won’t think twice about it. Now maybe sitting here all night might help your memory.” he said pushing her back as she whimpered and shook. Even if she screamed, no one would hear her. I guess that’s the point of soundproof basements isn’t it? Lola held herself as she bit her lip and shivered from fear of the slight darkness as the moon was the only light in the basement. Old letters and boxes were stored here for safe keeping. This was meant for objects, not people…He walked up the steps before looking back down at the shaken up girl below as she sobbed. He smiled in satisfaction.“If you think this is bad, just wait until we’re married. Goodnight sweetheart.”____
