Alternative Universe(AU): AU fan fictions contain content which has something of the original story changed. Such as a characters' history, enviorment, or motivations. AU stories are mostly what-ifs. Where possibilites arising from different circumstances or character decisions are explored.

e.g.

Bleach - Ichigo is a little kid throughout the fan fiction  Supernatural - Sam found a way to break Dean's deal with the devil. (Dean never went to hell)  Spongebob Squarepants - Plankton has never met Mr. Krabs before.  Residet Evil 5 - the game ends with Wesker still alive.  Silent Hill (the movie) - The characters of that movie are replaced with characters from the  Resident Evil movie. the Powerpuff Girls - The Powerpuff Girls meet the character from  Courage the Cowardly Dog.Pokemon - The characters live in Canada in the year 2018.

Crossover: When one story/movie/t.v. show/ect. collides with another.

e.g.

Supernatural's Deans' girlfriend is Chloe of Smallville.Pokemon's Ash' new friend is Yugi of Yu-Gi-Oh!

Drabble: An extremely short fan fiction that contains exactly 100 words.

Femslash: Fanfictions that contain lesbian relationships. GirlXGirl.

Fluff: I'm not exatly sure what this means but, I believe it means that the fictiion is light and fun to read. And the story is not serious.

Incest: Sexual intercourse between people who are closely related.

Lemmon (Lemon): Fan fictions that graphic sexual activites.

Lime: Fan fictions that contain hints of sexual activities. And almost having sex, for example Fake (the shonen-ai anime).

Mpreg: Male pregnency within story.

One Shot: Stories that are to be created as the only issue.

Original Character: Well, what do you think it means?

Out of Character: Fan fictions that contain characters that don't act themselves. e.g. Spongebob is very serious and mature in the story.

Rape: The story contains rape of course.

Slash: Same sex relationships. This term mostlty involves male characters in a realtionship or in sexual activity.
