She walked silently down the dirt path that lead into the woods. She came here at least once everyday if not more. Delilah had a spot under a Maple tree by a small river that she always sat to write or think. And today she had to do a lot of thinking..

School had sucked beyond all measure. She caught Kurt cheating on her with some girl by the name of Chelsi, she was also the head cheerleader. For some reason Delilah was not really mad, just hurt. Once she reached the flame colored maple tree she sat underneath it and pulled out a small notebook and began to write...

As the time goes byI long to be freeBecause I'm afraid I'll dieNo one can seeWhy I hate this lifeOf Captivity....

SHe stopped a moment and placed the tip of her pin between her lips as she thought. The rustle of leaves made her look up and the made her gasp. Standing infront of her a the edge of the river was a grey wolf. He had a scar from his left eye down to his muzzle but other than that e looked silver. He was beautiful...

He watched her as intensely as she watched him. Neither moved though he figured she would run within a few moments. He was wrong, instead she stuck out her hand and cooed softl.

"Hey wolfie.." She smild as she looked at him. His blue eyes locked with her emerald green. He thought they were pretty. "I would pet you but I don't want to get bit or upset you..." Sh smiled again and just watched him as he moved and flicked his long pink tongue out to lap up the cool water. He could feel her eyes on him and to his surprise he smell curiosity and not fear. This highly amused him.

She finally looked back and wrote once more...

I pace the cageThat is my home Like a wolf pacesWithin its cage That is the zooWild and FreeThe wolf and me...But here we areTwo worlds apartYou are freeAnd I am in captivity....

As she wrote she felt warm breath on her shoulder and she slowly. They locked eyes again. There he stood, right next to her! He looked down at her work and she swore he had a wolfish grin which made her laugh. Her laughter was sweet in his ear.

"Are you laughing at my poetry, Wolfie? Well...I guess you get to laugh cause your free..." She showed him her hand again and he sniffed it...she smelled like the forest after a rain..he liked. A sudden howl broke their silence and he licked her hand and then ran off..his pack called. When he looked back he swore he saw a tear down her cheek......
