A/N: This is a long chapter! Or at least, longer than usual I think. It's the last chapter, what do you expect? Yes! This is finally the end of this entertaining story. And guess what? It's only the fourth fanfic I ever finished. And I've written about 20. (Including some other stories that aren't fanfics.) Isn't that bad? Alrighty, now READ ON!
disclaimer: I own the plot and Courtney, Megan, Cheyenne, Morgan and Rachel. And the orange blanket. Nothing else.
*SNAP*
A burst of cold air blew through the room when Ryan opened the used to be snowed in door. Snow flooded in and touched his feet making him jump back."The door opened!" Rachel yelled as she ran down the steps. She ran up beside Ryan and looked out the door. There was still about two feet of snow outside the door, all glossy because of the ice, which was the snow on top that melted. She could see the ice stuck to the door that broke when Ryan pulled the door open causing snow to flood in.
"We should go wake everyone up," Ryan said. Just then the heater kicked on, along with every other electronic device.
"Power's on," Rachel said. (A/N: The only reason the house stayed warm was because of the fire place and the body heat.) She immediately went up the stairs to go get everyone else up.
"We should probably get some more clothes," Brendon said as he got up from the table.
"Good idea," Cheyenne and Ryan said as Ryan closed the door.
"Wake up! Everyone, wake up!" Rachel said, knocking on all the doors like she were playing the drums. She stopped as she got to Ryan's parents door. She opened it up.
"Hey Meg, wake up. The power's on and Ryan got the door open," Rachel said, much softer than when she was trying to wake everyone up.
"Yeah, I heard the commotion," she replied grumpily.
"Alright well we need to get up now anyway. It's like 1:30," Rachel said as she walked out the door. She just kept it open so Meg would actually have to get out of bed, at least to close the door.
When she got out into the hallway and saw no one except for Ryan, Brendon and Cheyenne coming up the stairs to get more clothes.
"Get Patrick and Pete up when you go in," she said to Cheyenne as she went to Ryan's brother's room.
"I'm kind of scared to open the door," Rachel said looking at Ryan. She pressed her ear to the door and didn't hear anything. She came up with the next best solution. "WAKE UP!" She yelled as the pounded on the door, again like drums.
"We're up, we're up," she heard Gabe practically grunt.
"If you're not out here in five we're savagly removing you from the room," Ryan said then turned back towards his room. Rachel followed suit.
"Here's you jeans," Ryan said, picking up Rachel's jeans from up off the floor.
"Thank you," Rachel said, taking them from him and putting them on.
After Rachel got her jeans on she headed back downstairs to see Courtney and Jon awake and preparing to scare the crap out of Morgan and Spencer.
"Sh," they motioned with their hands. Rachel nodded. Courtney made "1, 2, 3!" signs with her hands and immediately her and Jon yelled "WAKE UP!" in Spencer and Morgan's faces.
"WHAT THE FUCK," Spencer yelled, dazed and flying off the couch, in turn, making Morgan fly off the couch with him."OW!" MorggiBEAR practically growled as she sat up. Courtney and Jon started laughing. Morgan threw a full soda can at the both of them.
"OW, what the fuck!" Courtney yelled.
"NO FOUL PLAY! Just appologize," Rachel said comign up between them. The last thing we needed were pissy people.
After they appologized everyone was down in the kitchen except Megan.
"Someone go get Meg," Rachel said.
"Why don't you?" Cheyenne asked.
"Because I was already up there trying to get her out of bed and she'd probly flip out on me. She probably wouldn't flip out on someone else who hasn't tried to wake her up," Rachel replied.
"I'll go," said Patrick.
"So why did we all need to get up?" William asked, rubbing his eyes.
"We'll wait until Patrick and Megan get down here," Ryan replied. A minute later Patrick came downstairs.
"She said she'll be down in a minute," Patrick said, taking his seat next to Pete once again. And, believe it or not, a minute later Megan was down the steps and in the living room with everyeone else.
"Okay, so the news?" Pete asked. Ryan walked over to the door and opened it.
"You got the door open?" Jon asked.
"When?" Spencer asked.
"This morning," Brendon replied.
"Now approaches another obstacle," Rachel said.
"What?" Ryan asked.
"How many shovels do you have?" she asked him.
"Three or four, why?" he asked.
"How many cars are in the driveway?" she asked him. He was starting to catch on.
"Six." Ryan started heading towards the door that lead into the garage, which was next to the kitchen. In a minute he came back. "There's two snow shovels and two regular shovels. "Okay," Rachel started, "Everyone who came together are going to pair up and take turns to shovel the snow out from under the car you came in. So I suggest going and getting your coats and shoes."
In five minutes Rachel and Brendon, Pete and Patrick and Gabe and William were in teh garage getting shovels.
"Whoever uses the snow shovel, use both of them. They'll be harder to get through the ice than the regular shovels," Ryan said while getting the shovels out. Rachel and Brendon got the snow shovels and started out.
"This is going to be entertaining," Brendon said.
"No kidding," Rachel said, cracking the garage door open and stepping on top of the iced-over snow. Right as Rachel got to her car Brendon could see a glint in her eyes.
"Oh, gosh, what are you thinking?" Brendon asked. Rachel set her shovel down and saw Patrick and Pete walking out towards the back of the driveway. She ran across the yard, then landed on her knees and power-slid the whole way across Ryan's neighbors yard. Just as she skidded to a stop Ryan walked out and started laughing.
"What are you doing?" Ryan asked, smiling.
"Having fun!" Rachel smiled back and did the same thing, except sliding back to Ryan's driveway this time. Gabe and William walked out, they were also laughing.
"What's everyone laughing at? You should try it!" Rachel smiled wide.
"What the heck," Brendon said putting his shovel down and slid across the yards with Rachel. When the got into Ryan's neighbors yard Brendon crashed into Rachel and they started spinning, laughing their heads off. Soon, everyone else who was outside was also sliding around on the ice, causing the people inside Ryan's house to come out and see what the commotion was. Within five minutes everyone was outside sliding around, having a great time.
"Rachel, you are crazy," Ryan said, laughing and sliding around while trying to make his way over to her.
"I know I am," she smiled wide. He put his arms around her waist right as he slipped, taking both of them down and making them both burst out laughing.
In fifteen minutes half of the people went back inside and the other half stayed outside to finally shovel out their cars.
"I can't break the ice," Brendon said as he tried to get his shovel through the ice.
"Try this," Rachel said jumping up in the air as high as possible and slamming her feet through the ice.
"That kind of looks like it hurt," Brendon said helping Rachel out of the hole she made.
"Not really, just don't scrape your legs on the sharp edges of the ice," she replied as she got another shovel-ful out of the hole she made.
"Yeah, not happening," Brendon said.
A half an hour later everyone was finished shoveling. As soon as the group of six shovelers and Ryan came back inside the other six were ready to go back outside. Ryan went back out with them.
"I am so cold!" Rachel said.
"You? How could you be cold?" William asked.
"Because my legs are cold. my legs always get cold. And my feet are freezing, which shouldn't be a surprise, since Spencer vouched for me when I put my toes up against him," she replied.
"Well I could get you some slippers form Ryan's room," Brendon said.
"It wouldn't work unless they were already warm," Rachel said.
"I could wear them," Brendon said.
"No because then they'd be sweaty. Just hang them on the heater for a little bit please," she smiled jokingly.
"Fine then, you can get your own slippers," Brendon smiled but got up to get them anyway.
"While you're up there could you get my blanket off Ryan's bed?" Rachel smiled at Brendon who stopped halfway up the stairs to stare at her.
"Fine," he said and turned to go back up the steps.
In a half an hour Rachel's feet were warmed up with teh slippers that hung on the heater for ten minutes and the group outside was almost done. One of the people using the snow shovels gave one to Ryan to try and get the snow at the end of the driveway.
"So, what do you want to do? Stay here another night or try to get out?" Ryan said when the group came back inside. It was about 3:45 now.
"I want to get home, but I'd have to call my mom and see how the roads are back there," Courtney said.
"Oh, I didn't think about that," Cheyenne said. "I bet the roads will be pretty bad back in Scenic Nowhere." (A/N: haha, it's actually called Scenic [I can't spell it ->] Knowl but it's in the middle of nowhere and I got that phrase from Cheyenne)
"You think it's bad back there? At least your bus can come up to your house," Courtney retorted.
"True."
So Courtney and Cheyenne called their parents to check out how bad the roads were back where they live. Morgan thought about calling but she hardly calls her mom to let her know she's going somewhere, let alone check how the roads are. Either way, she lives in the country, but in a developmental area so the roads should be fine.
Surprisingly, when Courtney got off the phone with her mom she said that she actually could get back to her house, as long as she could coast the ice on her road that is permanently stuck there every winter.
"I remember walking back your driveway because my grandma wouldn't take her car back there so I basically ice skated the whole way back to your house," Rachel said to Courtney, recalling one of the many times she came over to work on biology and play Wii.
"I remember that. And when we went to pick up Megan at the graveyard we could see the places you slid around," Courtney said making sure she had everything. "Meg, do you have everything?"
"Yeah, let me call my mom and let her know I'm coming home," Meg said dialing her moms cell phone number.
"Well we better go start the cars so the heat will melt whatever's left on the pavement," Ryan said.
"Good idea," Pete said, getting up and heading toward the door. "You didn't think to shovel out the doorway did you?"
"Oops," Ryan said smiling. "Go out the garage door."
And the heat idea did help. And it's a good thing everyones tires are good too because they had to slide their way out of the back of the driveway.
So just like this story began everyone started leaving in twos, in reverse order that they showed up because of the way the cars were parked.
"So I guess I'll see you later?" Cheyenne said to Brendon as her and Morgan were about to leave.
"Deffinately," Brendon smiled then kissed her.
"Come on, we gotta move!" Courtney said to her, seeing as her car was blocked with Morgan's.
Cheyenne left with Morgan and they slid out of the driveway, hit the ice-potholes the other cars tires left and got onto the non-icy road.
"See you guys later," Courtney said as her and Megan walked out the door.
"I'll be right back," Rachel said and went up to Ryan's room to make sure she had all her stuff. She did.
"Where'd you go?" Brendon asked when Rachel got back to the living room.
"Went to go see if I had everything," she replied.
"Good idea, I better go do that," Brendon said, clearly to let her and Ryan have alone time before they left.
"This was really fun," Rachel said smiling and going over and hugging Ryan.
"It was Megan's fault," Ryan laughed.
"You're right. It was. If she wouldn't have gone and said about a blizzard we wouldn't be here right now. But I'm glad it did," she smiled and kissed him.
"Me too," Ryan smiled. They hugged once more as Brendon got down to the bottom of the steps.
"Well, we better get going," Rachel said.
"See you later," Brendon said to Ryan as the two walked out the door.
"So I guess we're going to drop you off," Rachel said to Brendon.
"Yep," Brendon said. "And as soon as I get in there I'm getting a hot shower, clean clothes and then calling everyone to see if they got home alright."
"You mean you're calling Cheyenne," Rachel said with a cocky smile.
"Yeah," Brendon smiled and nodded.
A/N: FINALLY THE END! I thought I was going to have a much crappier ending than I did because I'm not used to writing endings... But I liked it! Review review review!!!
