Coco, Dorm Adviser for the highschool girls, had been so sloppy at her job that Dean Rivers finally had to draw the consequences. "You're fired! Get your belongings together and don't leave anything behind! We need you out of here at noon!"

Coco Wexler was consternated. She had been working in her position since the school had started admitting girls, which was now almost four years. As a highschool dropout without a GED, she had no chance to find any decent job at all. She sighed bitterly, but it was all her fault, as she had kept on neglecting her pupils shamelessly for a can of raw ravioli every now and then. Even more, when she was in charge of a camping trip for middle school kids, she had lost two of the pupils because she had gone crazy down to the lack of ravioli. In addition, what was her boyfriend Walter going to say? He still hadn't told his wife Audrey about the whole thing and pressed for a divorce. Coco needed now some assurance concerning this as soon as possible.

Dean Rivers had already arranged dates for the first interviews. His first candidate was a certain Sonya from Seattle. [[91]] That woman had previously worked as a private cook for several rich people up there.

"Poor Dustin!" Megan sobbed.

Sam nodded solemnly. "And now I'm going to have to miss out on my best friend for the next years, or months, whatever. That stinks!"

Mrs. Burvich, the boarding manager of the PCA, came along. "Puckett! Parker!"

Megan and Sam were flabbergasted.

"According to my list, you are just two in this dorm, right?" Mrs. Burvich looked like a naughty witch

Megan and Sam choked unison and stared at each other. They didn't want to share the room with someone that wasn't Carly. It was just as if they expected Carly back any time. And then everything should be ready for her.

"But we've got Carly Shay!" Sam moaned.

"According to my list, Ms. Shay left us and went abroad last week!" Mrs. Burvich cleared her itchy throat. "And this means that ..."

"Carly is still here!" Sam boomed.

"I'll be back in ten minutes, and if Ms. Shay confirms her presence with her signature, it will be alright." Mrs. Burvich thundered before leaving.

Megan and Sam chuckled viciously.

"So, what to do when she comes back?" Megan asked.

"You'll pretend to be Carly!" Sam grinned.

"She'll be suspicious if she doesn't see Carly and me together ..." Megan scratched her head. "Paige!"

Sam and Megan highfived.

The trick had worked out well, but they needed something else to replace Carly for the eyes of the new Dorm adviser.

Sam grinned when she dragged something man-sized into the dorm. "This is one of Spencer's sculptures ..." Sam pulled a blanket off the sculpture. "The bottle guy! It even may move a bit!" Sam pushed a button.

Megan's eyes bugged out. "Cool!"

Sam grinned. "Now we need to repaint it in Carly's likeness. You will serve me as a model, and I need to borrow the paint from the woodshop!"

Megan had another idea. "Why not ask Maria? You know, Mark del Figgalo's girlfriend ... or ex-girlfriend ..."

Sam beamed. "Yeah, sure! I don't know whether they are still together, but the idea is great! Maria is an excellent painter."

Maria gave her best to paint the bottle man's head in the likeness of Carly Shay, using Megan as a model.

Freddie and Dustin stumbled in.

"Doesn't Carly's counterfeit look real?" Sam asked Dustin.

"I could kiss it right on sight!" Dustin smiled.

"Hey! I've been the model, so it should look more like me!" Megan grinned.

Nevel stumbled in. "You don't dare to kiss Megan!" he boomed. "Or you will rue the day! Until dystopia ..."

"Dustin has got the message." Megan chuckled. "The cardboard face still lacks the last polish which will make it clear that it's Carly, not me or Paige ..."

"Anyways, the counterfeit isn't there in order to fool the boyfriends," Sam remarked, "but in order to fool Mrs. Burvich and the dorm advisers! And they don't know how to distinguish them!"

Megan and Freddie agreed.

The interview with Sonya had been terrible. Instead of giving any references, Sonya just talked the headmaster's ears off, and she offered him blueberry muffins which she had baked on site with a new mini stove.

Finally, Dean Rivers had come to a decision. Sonya was not going to be employed as a dorm adviser, but as a cook, while, in turn, Mrs. Lintye [[92]] from the cafeteria was moved into the office of a dorm adviser for the high school girls.

Breakfast time.

"Hey, these blueberry muffins are delicious!" Sam remarked.

Megan nodded.

Sam took Freddie's muffin and shoved it between her teeth.

"That was my muffin!" Freddie remarked.

"Let's pretend that it was mine, will we?"

Freddie shrugged helplessly.

Nevel wondered. "Did anyone notice your deceit?"

Sam shook her head vigorously. "They are dumb and dumber ..."

Megan chuckled. Take a bit of painted cardboard, and the dorm advisers fall like flies ... and we've already feared that only Coco could be such a creep.

Nevel sighed. "Maria had done a great job, after all. I think the curse is now cancelled." He was referring to the malediction he had bestowed upon Mark and Maria after Mark had dumped Quinn for the second time.

Megan and Sam nodded.

Dustin looked at the menu. He sobbed. "Do you know what crap they get to eat at Covington's?"

"Poor Carly!" Sam sighed.

"Whereas we get today Cooscoos with Baba Ghenoush" Dustin beamed.

Sam's mouth turned watery.

Lola Martinez, sitting next table, wondered who Bob Ganoosh was, she thought of him as a great kisser and football player.

Carly and Zoey occasionally met for lunch in the cafeteria of Covington Prep. The English kitchen was terrible, just as expected, even worse than the weather. Endless storms and mounds of rain were not really uncommon for Seattle girl Carly Shay.

"Would you even want me as a sister in law?" Carly asked Zoey.

"If it makes Dustin happy ..." Zoey answered. "And if you stand through this semester of separation, I'll be sure that you do."

Carly smiled. "Will you return to the PCA for prom night? I'd come with you."

Zoey chuckled. "I know that you would use that occasion, but what should I do there. Nobody expects me and invites me for the prom ball." Zoey sighed.

"Chase? James?" Carly wondered.

Zoey shrugged. "James had been a cute distraction for a change. And Chase is really better of with me as a friend. Addie is much more suited for him. They are really able to share everything." Zoey sighed. "And it has nothing to do with sex and other disgusting stuff."

Carly sighed. "You're probably right ... it's so damn' hard to land a lucky strike. Chase must be a hell of fortunate."

Zoey nodded solemnly. "He really is, more than anyone else."

Freddie had wondered why Sam had been able to fix the connection to London. Was it just mere random, or was she more proficient with computers than anyone had hitherto been able to imagine? He decided to ask Sam.

Sam chuckled. But she didn't know whether to admit to it, or to deny it. "Dorkward, I ..." She blushed with embarassment.

"Yeah, Sam?" He didn't notice the crismson shade in her face.

Sam sighed bitterly. "What I have to tell you ... I've taken that online course of the Moving Picture Experts Group, curtailed M.P.E.G..."

Freddie was consternated. He had been the computer freak, right? So why didn't he know what M.P.E.G. stood for, given that he used programs made by that group every day. "Yeah Sam?" He stammered.

Sam moaned. "I've done all that in order to impress one certain guy ..."

"And who would that be?" stubborn Freddie stammered.

Sam sighed more and more. How could Freddie be such a dork? Wait ... she liked him properly because he was like that, not instead of. She couldn't stand all those popular boys, arrogant jerks that treated girls like throw away toys.

"Spit it out!" Freddie appeared more and more impatient. "I won't tell anyone!"

Sam had no other choice. "It's for you!" She sighed, trying to release her tension noisily. "I've done all this for you ..."

Freddie was consternated. "So the kissing stuff last night ... it wasn't just for Dustin ..." Freddie stammered.

Sam shook her head. Finally Fredweird had come to get it. She threw her arms tenderly around Freddie. "I love you."

Freddie was still flabbergasted. Yet he decided to return Sam's affection in kind.

Dustin walked in on the two of them. "Oops!" Then he disappeared again. "Supper with Gibby and Nevel ... be back later!"

Chase sighed with relief. "Michael is coming back after the break!"

Addie who had been practising some tune with him smiled in agreement. "Poor Michael! But he has still got many friends here. He should concentrate on those that he's got."

Chase nodded. "Also, Logan will be back for Junior Prom if Dana invites him."

"You're sure that she will do that?" Addie wondered.

Chase nodded. "They may appear harsh to each other, but that's only because they know exactly that each other is able to bear it."

Addie sighed with relief. "Good for them!" Then she threw her arms around Chase, pecking him on the cheeks. "Oops!" She wasn't sure whether Chase appreciated that, given that it had so far just been Zoey's impression that Chase and Addie had been made for each other.

Chase swooned. "Aw Addie ... do you want to be my prom bride?"

Addie beamed brightly. "Sure!"
