Harry Eats Death

Harry sat at the table waiting for Severus. It was their first date, Severus wanted to make it special. “It smells so good.” Harry inhaled the aroma.

Snape served Harry then himself. “I hope you like it.” Severus arranged his napkin on his lap.

“Severus what kind of meat is in here?” Harry smiled over at Severus.

Snape was disappointed. “Harry I don't eat meat. Is that a problem?” A flush crept up Severus' neck.

Harry looked puzzled, “not particularly. Out of curiosity why don't you eat meat.”

“Harry in my life-time I have been responsible for many deaths both directly and indirectly. I don't want to be responsible for any more death. I hope you understand.” Severus bunched his hands in his napkin.

Forking up a vegetable, Harry grinned, “does that count for carrots too?” Severus returned the smile.
